Cranberry Cinnamon Whiskey Sour

Serve this cocktail to impress you guests at Thanksgiving, or treat yourself and your friends to DIY happy hour. Personally, I think the zesty, tart flavor makes it the perfect seasonal treat for Thanksgiving, especially when served with the subtle, warm flavors of sweet potatoes and gravy. Bonus: this drink is super pretty.

- 2 cups fresh cranberries - 2 cups water - 2 cups sugar - 2 cinnamon sticks - 3/4 cup bourbon or whiskey - 1/2 cup lemon juice - 1/4 cup orange juice - 1/4 cup lime juice - Ice cubes & cocktail shaker for mixing

Start by making your own cranberry syrup by combining  cranberries, water, sugar, and cinnamon sticks in a pot. Bring it to a boil over a medium flame, reduce to a simmer until it looks like a proper syrup. The cranberries should burst open and the consistency should be smooth.  Remove from heat and drain through a sieve, leaving the large chunks behind. Let it sit for at least ten minutes so it cools off.  Now mix the syrup with the remaining ingredient into a cocktail shaker. Shake and strain. Serve immediately.
